We’re Emine + Paul Rushton –

life partners of 25 years, parents to two kids + the Pup,

and co-creators here at The Clearing.

We don’t have many pictures of the two of us together

(well, not since the kids were born, 13 years ago) but hopefully you’ll feel

and see our quiet presence behind all that’s shared

& woven here month by month,

season by season.

We’re so happy you have found us here in this loving earthly corner.

About Paul (Mr R)

Paul is a grower, cook & writer. In 2019, we co-wrote a book: Sattva: The Ayurvedic Way to Live Well. It shares all that we've learned over the last 20 years, as we've slowly moved further and further away from our previously frantic, urban, 24-7 lives. You’ll find Mr R in the kitchen and garden. His is the slow ceremony + witnessing presence here at The Clearing. In between stay-at-home-parenting, cooking and taking the Pup out for walks, he spends his days creating new recipes, pouring his heart into seasonal reflections and weaving the threads of this new offering, for 2024.

About Emine

I was a health & wellness editor for 20 years – nine of those spent at Psychologies magazine, as Wellness Director. I retrained as a holistic therapist in 2012-13, because I felt so strongly called to focus on integrated, kind, gentle, seasonal & intuitive approaches to wellbeing. I’ve also studied Ayurveda, Shakti Yoga Therapy for Women and Herbal Medicine. I split my time between Devon (working alongside organic farmers Riverford) and home in Kent. I am the author of Ayurveda for Modern Life, which I wrote all the way back in 2013, and the creative journal, Reclaim Joy which came out in Spring 2021. I co-authored Natural Wellness Every Day with natural health & beauty pioneers Weleda in 2022, and Holistic Habits, in January 2023. My next book, which explores our middle-years and the messy magic of Motherhood, will be released in Spring 2025. I’m also a substacker + founder of Mother Nourish
